The purpose of this study is to develop and verify the validity of the scale of Social Welfare Practice Competence for Unification Period (SWPCU) in response to the current need for preparing for unification. For this study, we used a triangulation research method consisting of literature review, focus group interviews and and quantitative approach. SWPCU was conducted of five factors (knowledge, skills, self-reflection, perspective, and resources) through literature review and FGIs. Based on this, 47 preliminary questions of the SWPCU scale were organized. A total of 274 social workers responded to the survey, and they were randomly divided into two groups by scale development sample (n=137) and validation sample (n=137). We used exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses to construct a structural model and to verify the construct validity. Finally, SWPCU consisted of four sub-factors of technology, resources, knowledge and perspective, and a total of 16 questions. The concept of SWPCU that is essential to Unification period can be defined in the field of social welfare practice. Also, the developed scale can be used as a tool for empowering social workers in preparation for unification.
본 연구는 통일을 준비하는 현재의 시대적 요구에 부응하여 통일시대에 필요한 사회복지실천 역량의 측정도구를 구성하고 타당화 검증을 하였다. 문헌연구, 질적연구(FGI), 그리고 양적연구의 세 가지 연구방법을 활용하였다. 문헌연구와 FGI를 통하여 통일시대 사회복지실천 역량을 5개 요인(지식, 기술, 관점, 자기성찰, 자원)으로 구성하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 통일시대 사회복지실천 역량 측정도구의 예비문항 47개를 추출하였다. 총 274명의 사회복지사가 설문에 응답하였으며, 이들을 척도개발표본(n=137)과 타당화 표본(n=137)으로 무작위로 두 집단으로 나누어 분석하였다. 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 모형을 구성하고 타당도 검증을 하였으며, 최종적으로 기술, 자원, 지식, 관점의 4개 하위 요인, 총 16개 문항으로 구성되었다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 통일시대 사회복지실천 역량 척도는 통일시대에 사회복지사에게 필요한 사회복지실천 역량의 개념을 정의하고 통일을 대비하는 사회복지사의 역량강화를 위한 도구로서 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
This study examined relationships among experience of cultural adaptation, cognitive competence such as cognitive flexibility and multiple-perspective taking and marital quality among Korean men married to immigrant women. It also investigated a hypothesis that effects of cultural adaptation experiences on marital quality would be mediated by such cognitive competence. Data were drawn from a self-administered questionnaire study conducted in Seoul and a metropolitan area in which 173 Korean husbands in multicultural families participated. As expected, the results of regression analyses showed that both teaching self-culture and cultural adaptation activity significantly contributed to not only cognitive flexibility and multiple-perspective taking, but also marital quality as revealed in both couple intimacy and marital satisfaction. Cognitive competence as examined by cognitive flexibility and multiple-perspective taking was also positively related to such marital quality. In addition, hierarchical regression analyses revealed that the effect of cultural adaptation activity on couple intimacy is partially mediated by multiple-perspective taking. Finally, implications for social work practice were discussed based on these results.
이 연구는 다문화가정 한국인 남편의 문화적응에 관한 연구들이 주로 스트레스에 초점을 두어 문화적응경험의 순기능을 간과한 점에 주목하였다. 따라서 문화적응경험과 그런 경험으로 촉진될 수 있는 인지유연성, 관점다각화 같은 인지역량이 결혼의 질에 미치는 효과를 알아보고, 문화적응경험과 결혼의 질 간의 관계가 인지유연성, 관점다각화에 의해 매개되는지를 조사하였다. 편의표집을 통해 확보된 서울 및 수도권 지역에 거주하는 다문화가정 한국인 남편 173명이 자기기입식 설문조사에 참여하였다. 일련의 회귀분석과 위계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 자문화전달과 문화적응활동으로 측정된 문화적응경험은 예측대로 결혼의 질을 대변하는 부부친밀성과 결혼만족 뿐 아니라 인지유연성과 관점다각화에 유의한 기여를 하였다. 또한 인지유연성과 관점다각화는 기대했던 바와 같이 부부친밀성과 결혼만족을 각각 도왔다. 끝으로 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 한국인 남편의 문화적응활동으로 부부친밀성이 강화되는 효과의 일부가 관점다각화에 의해 매개됨이 확인되었다. 이 결과들은 다문화가정 한국인 남편들 사이에서 문화적응경험을 통해 인지역량과 결혼의 질이 강화될 수 있음을 시사하여 그에 기초한 사회복지적 함의가 논의되었다.
